Gastr del Sol – “Work From Smoke” from Crookt, Crackt, or Fly (1994)

Though David Grubbs and Jim O’Rourke put together Camofleur, one of the best albums of the 1990s, this long song from the early, enigmatic Crookt, Crackt, or Fly stands as their most rewarding track. Fearsome acoustic guitar interplay balanced with a beautiful ambient section.
